    Low Emission Zones in Poland

    In various Polish cities, Low Emission Zones (Strefa Czystego Transportu – SCT) are slowly beginning to appear. Their purpose is to restrict access for older vehicles that do not meet the required emissions standards. Supposedly, the idea is to improve our quality of life and health by reducing air pollution. In reality, it’s not quite that simple – but that’s a topic for another time. In this post, I describe the Low Emission Zones that already operate in Poland or will be launched soon.

    The Crown of Poland (Korona Polski) is a list of the sixteen highest peaks and elevations in each voivodeship of Poland. Not all locations on the list are natural mountains – some of them, such as Góra Kamieńska, are man‑made elevations.

    Based on the map published by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) showing the target names of road interchanges, I created an interactive map featuring these interchanges. In addition to the existing road interchanges, I also included planned ones whose locations I was able to identify.

  • Adoptive difficulties

    Adoptive difficulties

    Adoption, or more precisely the legal placement of a child, is not a hardship in itself. It is certainly a challenging time, but it can also bring a lot of joy. That has been the case with our adoption of Jaś, and similarly for many biological parents. However, in our situation there are additional difficulties we must face, ones that biological parents do not necessarily encounter.

    The found puzzle – Jaś

    For some time, I wondered whether to share a certain change that happened in my life a few months ago. I didn’t really have — and still don’t have — a clear idea of how to describe it, and fatigue combined with the lack of time means this entry may be chaotic. So what is it all about? Well, my wife and I have found a puzzle piece we had been searching for a long time. That puzzle piece is a boy named Jaś.
