For many years, during the summer holidays, my wife and I would go to the mountains for our vacation. Most often it was the Tatra Mountains, but sometimes the Sudetes or the Bieszczady. This year, for various reasons — including preparing a room for Jaś — we didn’t have much time for a trip. Still, we didn’t stay home for the entire holiday; instead, we spent a few days in Toruń, a city we hadn’t visited for several years.

May trip to Kąty Rybackie
Our September trip to the Vistula Spit was so enjoyable that we decided to return there, preferably the following year. We didn’t expect that only a few months would pass before we went back — and only because our little son, Jaś, came up with the idea that he wanted to spend his third birthday on the beach. We liked the idea, so for his birthday we headed once again to Kąty Rybackie.

September trip to the Vistula Spit
I’m the kind of person who prefers spending time hiking in the mountains rather than lying on a beach. My wife feels the same way. That’s why I’ve only been to the seaside a few times in my life — including once without my wife. The last time was in 2019, when we went together to Sopot. After several years’ break, we decided to visit the seaside again. This time, we travelled as a bigger family and once again in September, but to the Vistula Spit.
