One day, I was looking for a solution to a problem with one of the official WordPress plugins. It turned out that the quickest way was to write a patch for that plugin using AI (MS Copilot), which I did. That process inspired me to create my first own plugin—one that I actually needed—but this led to bigger issues that required debugging. I didn’t feel like enabling WordPress logging on the server, so the idea of a debugging plugin was born. This is how my first WordPress plugin came to life, and you can download it from the official repository – LiKoToN Debug Logs 1.0.0.
LiKoToN Debug Logs is a plugin that automatically collects logs from several sources at once and presents them in a clear, filterable table.
The plugin logs:
- PHP errors and warnings: including fatal errors, deprecations, and parse errors
- WordPress errors (wp_error_added)
- REST API requests: route, method, parameters
- User login events
- Custom logs added directly from your own code
Originally, I was creating the plugin with the help of MS Copilot, but even after selecting the Smart model, it was difficult to solve the errors I noticed, and I didn’t know how to fix them myself. On top of that, MS Copilot’s limitations — such as the inability to generate files or even upload files for verification — made me switch to Claude. The process of finding solutions takes longer there, but it’s more effective.
