I. Definitions

  1. Administrator – means the owner of the Service.
  2. Cookies - means IT data, in particular small text files, saved and stored on devices through which the User uses the Service’s website.
  3. Administrator’s Cookies – means Cookies placed by the Administrator, related to the provision of electronic services by the Administrator via the Service.
  4. External Cookies – means Cookies placed by the Administrator’s partners via the Service’s website.
  5. Service – means the website through which the Administrator operates an online service, available at the domain www.likoton.pl.
  6. Device – means an electronic device through which the User gains access to the Service.
  7. User – means an entity for whom, in accordance with the Terms and applicable law, electronic services may be provided, or with whom an Agreement for the provision of electronic services may be concluded.
  8. Personal Data – User data such as IP address, email address, first and last name, or username.
  9. GDPR  – Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, repealing Directive 95/46/EC.

II. Types of Cookies Used

  1. The Cookies used by the Administrator are safe for the User’s Device. In particular, they do not allow viruses or other unwanted or malicious software to enter the User’s Device. These files make it possible to identify the software used by the User and individually adjust the Service to each User. Cookies usually contain the domain name they originate from, the time they are stored on the Device, and a value assigned to them.
  2. The Administrator uses two types of cookies:
    1. Session cookies: stored on the User’s Device and remain there until the browser session ends. The stored information is then permanently deleted from the Device. The session cookie mechanism does not allow the collection of any personal data or confidential information from the User’s Device.
    2. Persistent cookies: stored on the User’s Device and remain there until deleted. Ending the browser session or turning off the Device does not remove them. The persistent cookie mechanism does not allow the collection of any personal data or confidential information from the User’s Device.
  3. The User may limit or disable the access of cookies to their Device. If this option is used, the use of the Service will still be possible, except for functions that by their nature require cookies.

III. Purposes for Which Cookies Are Used

  1. The Administrator uses its own Cookies for the following purposes:
    1. Service configuration
      1. adjusting the content of the Service’s web pages to the User’s preferences and optimizing the use of the Service’s pages
      2. recognizing the User’s Device and its location and displaying the website accordingly, tailored to individual needs

    3. Processes necessary for full website functionality
      1. adjusting the content of the Service to the User’s preferences and optimizing website use
      2. correct handling of the affiliate program, enabling verification of sources of User redirections
    4. Remembering the User’s location
      1. correct configuration of selected Service functions, enabling the adjustment of information based on the User’s location
    5. Analytics, research, and audience measurement
      1. creating anonymous statistics to understand how Users use the Service, enabling improvements to its structure and content
    6. Advertising services
      1. adjusting advertisements of third-party services and products displayed via the Service
    7. Ensuring security and reliability of the Service
  2. The Administrator uses External Cookies for the following purposes:
    1. Displaying multimedia content from external services:
      1. www.youtube.com (Google Inc., USA)
      2. www.instagram.com (Meta Platforms, Inc., USA)
    2. Collecting general and anonymous statistical data via analytics tools:
      1. Analytics
      2. Bing
    3. Displaying advertisements using online advertising tools:

    4. Using interactive features to promote the Service via social networks:

IV. Options for Managing Cookie Storage and Access

  1. The User may change cookie settings at any time, specifying the conditions for storing or accessing cookies on their Device. These settings may be changed via the browser settings or service configuration. They may block automatic cookie handling or notify the User each time cookies are placed on the Device.
  2. The User may delete cookies at any time using the browser’s available functions.

V. Purposes of Processing Personal Data

Personal Data is processed to provide electronic services by the Administrator, in particular to read articles, enable commenting, and communicate via email or social media.

Personal Data may also be processed for analytical purposes, advertising display, and the use of cookies necessary for proper operation and display of the Service.

Additionally, Personal Data may be processed to tailor website content to User interests, detect bots and abuse, and perform statistical measurements.

VI. Duration of Personal Data Processing

The duration of processing depends on the legal basis:

  1. Data requiring consent is processed until the User withdraws consent
  2. Data is processed until the Service ceases operation

VII. Who Do We Share Personal Data With?

Personal Data is shared with the services listed in section III.2 for statistical purposes, advertising display, or spam filtering. Each entity receives only the data necessary to provide its service.Some data may be transferred to the European Economic Area due to the location of data centers, always in accordance with EU data transfer rules and the Privacy Shield framework.

VIII. Transfer of Data Outside the European Economic Area

User Personal Data will be transferred outside the EEA to Google LLC and Microsoft for statistical purposes. Transfers are based on legally approved data protection safeguards.

IX. User Rights

Under GDPR, the User has the right to:

  1. request deletion, restriction, modification, or transfer of data
  2. request access to personal data
  3. lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office
